STAY FLEXIBLE, STAY MOBILE - WHY YOUR BODY LIKES TO MOVE

Don't Let Stiffness Slow You Down

Have you ever noticed that children naturally squat, stretch, twist, and move in every direction? As adults, many of us gradually stop moving that way. We sit more, drive more, watch more television, and work at computers. Our bodies slowly adapt to these positions. The result? Stiff muscles, tight joints and reduced mobility. Fortunately, flexibility can improve at any age.

Flexibility Is Freedom

Flexibility allows your joints to move through their natural range of motion. It helps make everyday activities easier, including:

  • Reaching overhead

  • Looking behind you while driving

  • Putting on shoes

  • Gardening

  • Playing with grandchildren

When flexibility improves, movement simply feels easier.

Why Stretching Works

Stretching helps muscles relax while improving circulation. It encourages healthy joint movement and helps reduce muscle tension that can contribute to discomfort. Combined with chiropractic care, stretching helps your body move more naturally. Healthy joints move better, and healthy muscles support healthy joints. Together they help your entire body function more efficiently.

Gentle Is Better

Many people think stretching should hurt. It shouldn't. A gentle stretch held comfortably is far more effective than forcing your body into painful positions. Stretching should leave you feeling refreshed—not sore.

Great Beginner Stretches

  • Neck Stretch

  • Shoulder Rolls

  • Seated Hamstring Stretch

  • Calf Stretch

  • Cat-Cow Stretch (performed on hands and knees or modified seated)
